About the Author

Until recently, personal/family historian, Deborah Tomasetti Perham, considered the legal community her home. Three decades ago, armed with little more than an IBM Selectric typewriter (without correction tape!) and one seriously strong work ethic, she started out providing ad-hoc back office support to law firms long before the words "virtual" and "assistant" were spoken together as phrase.

Throughout the years, Deborah's knowledge of the legal profession grew and she amassed a vast network of like-minded, legal support professionals. She was particularly drawn to the profession of court reporting, serving that industry for 30 years as an agency owner in New York City.

In 2012 she expanded into the world of personal history, still recording events, but this time there was a change of venue:  from courtroom to living room.  That's when "A Lifetime Legacy" was born.

This blog is about what Deborah has learned throughout the past three decades and her experiences with her new friends in the “personal history” community.

(You'll be happy to know she replaced her typewriter with a tablet and a smart phone.)
